Blue Mondays (30): Bully by Penelope Douglas

Blue Mondays

Monday mornings are the toughest mornings. Knowing the weekend is over and you’ll have to go to school or work again… But here is my solution: Blue Mondays!  Every other Monday I will pick an awesome book, which I hope will make the week almost bearable for you. Cause reading it will make you forget about everything else! And before you know it, weekend has started once again ^^

Bully by Penelope Douglas

My name is Tate. He doesn’t call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he’ll barely even speak to me.

But he still won’t leave me alone.

We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I’ve been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.

But I’m done hiding from him now, and there’s no way in hell I’ll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It’s time to fight back.

I’m not going to let him bully me anymore.

By accident I came across this lovely book when someone recommended this book to me (thanks again Ciaira!). It’s not an original story, girl gets bullied by the boy she likes, but there’s a nice twist: the girl decides to fight back! Tate will not be a whimsy person anymore. Enough is enough! This was the last time that she shed tears because of Jared. I quite liked the kick-ass chick she became!

However what pulled me in the most was the power of the attraction between her and Jared. You could practically feel it every time those two were near. It was sizzling and made my heart beat faster in my throat. Gah, it was amazing! Therefore I thought that this book would be ideal to forget that the weekend is over, cause you heart will be beating too soundly for you to focus on anything else. A perfect Blue Monday read!
