Her young man stepped out of nowhere onto a mountaintop…

Her high school counselor came from Hell. Literally…

Haley learns she has a unique gift. She normally lives her life escaping notice, but now two gorgeous strangers are interested in her. Very interested. Seth is the best-looking young man she (or anyone else) has ever met. Every girl in school is after him and the competition turns strangely vicious. She soon realizes that he is not fully bound to this world. Although they both feel the mutual attraction, there’s something holding him back… The second stranger is equally attractive, but more frightening. When she is with him, she somehow loses her self-control. To say more would give away too much, but Las Vegas will never be the same…

A new school year starts. Haley  hoped that she would have grown during the summer vacation, but alas.. She’s still stuck on her 5 feet. Fortunately, the arrival of a new boy at school helps her forget the couple of centimeters she lacks. Every available girl in school has her sights on him for the position of boyfriend. Haley’s best friend also takes part in this “competition” and she plays very dirty to get to him, even at the cost of Haley… Haley herself is drawn to Seth the moment he enters the classroom. When she touches him a  spark goes through both of them, making Seth notice her for real. They chat for a while until Haley sees some leaves lying in the form of an arrow on the lawn. Seth jumps when he sees it and tells her he must follow it… From then on the adventure starts… and becomes even more dangerous with the arrival of a new councilor…..

In the beginning Haley behaved like a stalker and it creeped me out. I was actually thinking of dropping this book. I’m a bit happy that I continued reading, after a break of course, because after she followed him like a stalker to the mountain, I had enough for a while.

After I continued reading the book, Haley actually grew on me. Especially when she realized she WAS behaving like a stalker and when Seth was also interested in her. Although her behavior at some times didn’t improve beyond the BLOND level at some times. Like when she had a talk with councilor Berlow for the first time and he started asking her questions about the signs… She wouldn’t think to tell Seth about the fact that Berlow questioned her about the signs and that he kinda creeped her out? Nooooo, her feelings for Seth and what he actually was were far more important… And the moment I finally knew what Seth actually was, came as a sort of anticlimax. A fallen angel? That’s so standard material these days… Couldn’t the author be a bit more creative!!?? But then again, some of the things that Seth could do were quite interesting.

My conclusion about the book is that it’s an amusing story, but you shouldn’t start thinking cause it makes you want to slap someone and you shouldn’t fret too much about the stalking behavior in the first couple of chapters since it will only make you stop reading the book.
I’m planning to read the next book in the series since I’m really curious about what’s going to happen to them.
